Samenwerking tussen Nash, Bartkore en Sapo.

In mei 2021, in volle coronatijd, beschilderde het kunstenaarscollectief ‘Limbuddies’, aangevoerd door Krisje Dirckx (KRS1), deze fietstunnel in Bree. Het project was een initiatief van de leerlingen van het 5de jaar van de lokale middelschool SAB.

Alle werken in de tunnel verwijzen naar het centrale thema ‘observatie en creatie’. Het gezamenlijke kunstwerk op de twee tunnelwanden draagt de titel ‘Ode aan de nieuwsgierigheid’.

Het figuurtje van Sapo is dan ook niet toevallig een reïncarnatie van Albert Einstein. Ook de formule E = mc² op de achtergrond verwijst naar Einstein.

Leuk detail: Sapo a.k.a. Geert Loijen integreerde in de muurschildering ook een wegwijzer naar zijn woonplaats Weert, waar hij curator is van 'Het Zuilen Kabinet'.

Collaboration between Nash, Bartkore and Sapo.

In May 2021, in full corona time, the artist collective ‘Limbuddies’, led by Krisje Dirckx (KRS1), painted this bicycle tunnel in Bree. The project was an initiative of the students of the 5th year of the local secondary school SAB.

All the works in the tunnel refer to the central theme of ‘observation and creation’. The joint artwork on the two tunnel walls is entitled ‘Ode to curiosity’.

The figure of Sapo is therefore not accidentally a reincarnation of Albert Einstein. Even the formula E = mc² in the background refers to Einstein.

Fun detail: Sapo a.k.a. Geert Loijen also integrated into the mural a signpost to his hometown of Weert, where he is curator of ‘Het Zuilen Kabinet’.
