The Racines Festival is the brainchild of graffiti artist HMI a.k.a. Fouad Hachmi. The festival was launched in September 2022 as a collaboration between Big Up asbl, the cultural centre L'Entrela and the municipality of Evere.

For 10 days, some 50 Belgian and international artists worked on murals in Evere's public spaces.

A second edition followed in 2024 from 5 to 15 September, with the participation of (inter)national artists such as Amin Brush, Iota, Strange Bird, Seika, Sitou, Lazoo and Dejaaone.
