This Celebration wall, painted for the 130th anniversary of the company “AVIA Vollenhoven” shows the development of the company through time, from fossil energy through bio energy and electrical energy to renewable energy from hydrogen. The company's motto is therefore: “Customer oriented towards sustainable mobility”.
On the wall you can see an old tanker truck vof the company, the facade of a beautiful building where the company was once located, the “Bij Koninklijke Beschikking Hofleverancier” logo and, in the background, a number of Tilburg icons including the Tilburg fairgrounds and the Heuvel church. The world and the fuel market are changing, and the Vollenhoven firm is changing with it. This is what the mural wants to show too.

History of family business Vollenhoven Oil:
In 1892 Jacobus van Vollenhoven started an oil business at the Oude Markt. In 1895 he associated with Emile Smulders and Van Vollenhoven & Smulders moved to the Nieuwlandstraat. From about 1900, the company was the oldest wholesaler of American Gulf in Europe. Much was also exported to the Dutch East Indies.
In 1908 an office was built at Nieuwlandstraat 41, an Art Nouveau design by Jan van der Valk. At this address the façade tableau with the old company name can now still be seen.
In 1926 the warehouse went up in flames, at the time the biggest fire in Tilburg history. In 1937 the company got its first tanker truck and an oil depot at Piushaven. After World War II, the company started trading fuel oil and later technical oils and fats. Some boats were also put into operation to supply shipping traffic with oil and fuel. The company moved to the Goirkekanaaldijk, where it developed into a modern supplier of oil products and lubrication, among other things. In 1995, Vollenhoven (without Van) received the Royal Supplier designation. Besides the storage and distribution of fuels, Vollenhoven Oil now operates fully automated filling stations and is also actively involved in the changing energy transition (among other things, they place electric charging stations).
Vollenhoven has been a member of the AVIA group since 2006 and has since then accommodated more and more filling stations in the red and white AVIA colors. Vollenhoven manages both AVIA (manned), AVIA XPress (unmanned) and AVIA TRUCK (transport) filling stations.

Muurschildering voor de firma AVIA Vollenhoven, gemaakt met assistentie van zijn dochter Zahra.

Deze mural is gemaakt om het 140-jarig bestaan van het bedrijf “AVIA Vollenhoven” te vieren en laat de ontwikkeling zien van het bedrijf door de tijd heen, van fossiele energie via bio-energie en elektro energie naar duurzame energie van waterstof. Het motto van het bedrijf is dan ook: “Klantgericht op weg naar duurzame mobiliteit“.
Op de muur o.a. een oude tankauto van het bedrijf, de gevel van een prachtig pand waar het bedrijf ooit was gevestigd, het "Bij Koninklijke Beschikking Hofleverancier"-logo en op de achtergrond een aantal Tilburgse iconen waaronder de Tilburgse kermis en de Heuvelse kerk. De wereld en de brandstofmarkt veranderen en de firma Vollenhoven groeit mee! Dat is wat de muurschildering ook wil laten zien.

Geschiedenis van familiebedrijf Vollenhoven Olie:
In 1892 begon Jacobus van Vollenhoven een oliehandel op de (Oude) Markt. In 1895 associeerde hij met Emile Smulders en verhuisde Van Vollenhoven & Smulders naar de Nieuwlandstraat. Vanaf ongeveer 1900 was het bedrijf de oudste groothandelaar van het Amerikaanse Gulf in Europa. Ook werd er veel geëxporteerd naar Nederlands-Indië.
In 1908 werd op Nieuwlandstraat 41 een kantoor gebouwd, een art-nouveau-ontwerp van Jan van der Valk. Op dit adres bevindt zich nog steeds een geveltableau met de oude bedrijfsnaam.
In 1926 ging het magazijn in vlammen op, destijds de grootste brand uit de Tilburgse historie. In 1937 kreeg het bedrijf de eerste tankauto en een olieopslag aan de Piushaven. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog ging het bedrijf stookolie en later technische oliën en vetten verhandelen. Ook werden enkele boten in gebruik genomen die het scheepvaartverkeer van olie en brandstof voorzagen. Het bedrijf verhuisde naar de Goirkekanaaldijk, waar het zich ontwikkelde tot een moderne leverancier van onder meer olieproducten en smering. In 1995 ontving Vollenhoven (zonder Van) het predicaat Hofleverancier. Naast de opslag en distributie van brandstoffen exploiteert Vollenhoven Olie nu ook volautomatische tankstations. Hiernaast is Vollenhoven ook actief bezig met de veranderende energie transitie (zij plaatsen o.a. ook elektrische laadpalen). 
Sinds 2006 is Vollenhoven lid van de AVIA groep en heeft sindsdien steeds meer tankstations ondergebracht in de rood-witte AVIA kleuren. Vollenhoven beheert zowel AVIA (bemand), AVIA XPress (onbemand) als AVIA TRUCK (transport) tankstations.
