‘OCTOPUS’

Mural Made for the Efímurs Festival, in L´Atmella de Mar, Tarragona
The octopus has been with me since my chilhood, since I was diving and I admired when a family member took it out of the sea...and curiosly now when I dive I am the one who takes it out so that my daughter can appreciate it before returning it to the water.
Blue blood, the ability to blend in, intelligence, 3 hearts and the magnificent movement generated by its legs transmit a singular beauty worthy of being represented, in addition to the personal connotations that have linked me to this being since childhood.

The figure, captured in tones characteristic of my work and similar to a species that lives in the Mediterranean, rests on a dark blue background, a marine tone that can be seen when the sun goes down. It is accompanied by some circles in relation to the porthole of the ships, which are made up of several borders; one with the abstraction of the waves of the sea, another with the simplification of a sailor's knot repeated continuously and two borders with tags or calligraphy that with messages allude to the experience lived at the festival as well as other personal ones, decontextualizing its origin, creating forms decorative.
