Baltsende futen / Bantering grebes

Het Vogelnest (English translation: Bird's Nest) is a community hub in the Vogelbuurt (Bird District) where neighbours come together to bring dreams to life, whether it's through cooking, painting, gardening, or just haning out and getting creative. Bird art makes the neighbourhood more beautiful and creative. As a result, Adelaarstraat has become an art street with seven murals of about 100 m2 each.

Muralists, graffiti artists and students from Da Vinci College have brightened up several facades of demolition and renovation flats in the Vogelbuurt neighbourhood with .... birds of course, strange and beautiful birds.

Het Vogelnest: "The Vogelbuurt was a somewhat neglected neighborhood in Dordrecht. The Bird Art Project is an initiative of Het Vogelnest to stimulate social cohesion in the hood by making it more beautiful and thus making a positive contribution to the quality of life in the neighborhood.  Professional artists and amateurs (graffiti artists and students from Da Vinci College) worked together to make the neighborhood more beautiful and creative with bird art.  They have brightened up various facades of demolition and renovation flats in the Vogelbuurt with various types of birds."

The artist about his work: "Grandly the grebes glide through their neighborhood. The water, brushed by the grebes, reflects our boundless sky. The grebe is for me one of the most beautiful birds in this area; she fits in perfectly with my repertoire of local Biesbosch animals."
