The world in our hands

The international artists Jaime Rodriquez, resident in Mexico, Luis Vasquez alias TinTin, Maya Cahua Laura from Bolivia and Malin Weissenberg from Cologne, created a mural with a group of children and young people from the Sülzer Youth and Cultural Center Initiative.

Under the motto “The world in our hands”, the children and young people worked together with the artists in a one-week street art workshop to develop ideas for the walls of the RheinEnergie Transformation House on Nikolausplatz in Cologne-Sülz.

At the start of the project, the artists discussed the topic of "environment, climate protection and the preservation of people and the earth" with the children and young people. Together they then created collages and sketches in order to paint and spray the motifs they had developed onto the walls in the second phase.

"What inspires me is the creative motivation of children to deal with future problems such as climate protection - that is what unites children and young people around the world," explains artist TinTin,.
