In 2014 St+art came together as a platform to promote street art in India, because alternate platforms for contemporary art did not exist. The organisation wanted to take contemporary art out of the gallery spaces to the streets and in february they choose the Kannagi Nagar district in Chennai to start a huge project. One of the centerpieces is a huge black and white portrait of Chennai based artists A-Kill: ‘The sisters’.was based on a photograph taken in Chennai at Nachi Kuppam in marina beach. It inspired the artist to paint this was when Ihe visited Kannagi Nagar and saw a lot of children playing around and in everyday life. He loves greyscale and decided to paint it with a yellow background to give contrast and vibrance.
