Inspired by the colours of the ochre plains that surround the region and the old gnarly gums that line the waterways, these two bird species can be found in the nearby Winton Wetlands. The landscape we were able to explore in the area a few days before the festival started is so raw and beautiful, I had to bring some of that into this local café haunt.
And the birds had to have halos, of course.
