Culpa Minha

Made for @murocritico Festival in Garguera, Spain . This painting was born as a catharsis about the duality of experiences between the rural and urban worlds.

As time goes by, life pushes us more and more towards the restless and hectic world of the big cities in search of new opportunities and a better life, ending up, consequently, leaving behind a legacy linked to the land, coming from the our parents and our grandparents.

The 90's generation is possibly the last to have this contact with the rural world through their family gardens and crops. I myself grew up and continue to grow in this duality and, also due to the circumstances I have already mentioned, I will not be able to continue this inheritance from my father.

The work represents a moment of transition for someone who has rural roots and is looking for opportunities in an uncertain and chaotic world, paying homage to a period in history where less frenetic and simpler times were lived.
